You may have seen that the hubby and I recently visited Denver, Colorado. Jake had an interview there, so I met him after work on Friday. Weekend trips are what I live for because they give me something to look forward to and I feel like I escape reality.
We crunched so much into my short 48 hour visit! I cannot wait to share more posts about our trip, but first I had to share our Saturday date night + my outfit. Jake and I are huge foodies, so I look forward to our meals. I generally eat very healthy during the week, so Saturday night is my “cheat night.” Even though I’ve been married almost 4 years, I still get excited to go on dates with Jake and I want to dress to impress.
The weather was perfect in Denver when we visited. All you needed was a light jacket or long sleeves during the day and a coat at night. I planned my outfits accordingly.
I feel like Denver is generally pretty casual, so this was the perfect dress for the occasion. I would call it dressy-casual. The best part is the dress didn’t wrinkle in my bag. It may be hard to tell in the pictures, but this dress is actually velvet and has some gorgeous metallic details. It has two tiers, which added a perfect touch. The dress runs true to size and I styled it with a belt to give it a more polished/fitted look. I dressed it up with tassel earrings and a small black bag.
We started our date by taking a complimentary ride in a Tesla provided by our hotel, The Crawford Hotel, to Larimer Square. What a fun experience! I will be sharing a full review soon on our stay. Larimer Square is a beautiful shopping center that features Christmas lights all year. Definitely a must-visit place in Denver! We then walked to The Millennium Bridge to see a view of downtown and took more pictures (my husband is so sweet to be my blog photographer). Luckily these shoes are pretty comfy because it was a decent walk.
Our Perfect Date Night In Denver:
Stop 1: Larimer Square to stroll the beautiful shopping center
Stop 2: Catch a view of Denver on The Millennium Bridge (it is walkable from Larimer, but they’re not right next to each other)
Stop 3: Have an appetizer and try some beer at Wynkoop Brewing Company- We had the pretzels with beer cheese (yum) for an appetizer and beer flights. I highly recommend them.
Stop 3: Stop at Linger for a pre-dinner drink- I enjoyed my tasty cocktail, and the food is supposed to be amazing too
Stop 3: Dinner at Root Down. This was delicious and is a must-visit place in Denver
Stop 4: Dessert at Little Man Ice Cream (try the chocolate salted Oreo ice cream, you’ll thank me later).
I hope everyone has had a nice week. I cannot wait to share more on our trip. Also, thank you for the support on my huge announcement. It is a lot to get used to being “A Byers Guide,” but I know I eventually will.
Sounds like such a fun night! And that dress is darling!

Aw thanks, Amanda! Yes, I highly highly recommend Root Down! It is quite popular, so I recommend getting reservations far in advance. We booked ours the week before and they barely could fit us in.
