Being a blogger means I wear many hats. One of the biggest hats I wear is being a small business owner.  Recently you probably saw that I moved from Oklahoma City, OK to Birmingham, AL. I quickly realized after meeting new people that one of their first questions they ask is what I do. When I tell them I am a blogger, they usually ask my blog name. I know from personal experience it can be hard to remember names. Having business cards is so important for me. I noticed new people I would meet would write my blog name down, so I knew I needed business cards. I want to make sure new people I meet remember my blog name, and that they get the spelling correctly since my last name (Byers)  is not spelled “Buyers” as it may sound. I am excited to partner with Basic Invites to show the cards I designed. I’d love for you to comment at the end and let me know which sample is your favorite.

When selecting a company to design online business cards with, Basic Invite an easy choice. I am pretty indecisive and don’t like ordering things without seeing it in person (especially anything that involves printing and paper types). Something that stood out about them is that they offer custom samples. They are one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their order. I didn’t want to commit to ordering a lot until I got the cards in my hands. The samples came quicker than the estimated date, which is always a winner for me.

My Ordering Process Experience

They also offer 180 different colors which makes for almost unlimited options. This is perfect when trying to pick the perfect shade for fonts or backgrounds.  I loved that you could customize everything when ordering the cards, from the font color and style all the way to the paper type. I noticed many other companies didn’t offer much customization and only had a few color choices.

I ordered 3 different samples that were completely different so I could see which one I liked most. Being a blogger, I feel like I can get a little more creative with my cards.  I ordered 2 that featured photos and one that was more text-based. I love that they have every option from elaborate cards to minimalist business cards. I also want to note that the sample arrived well before the estimated delivery date, so that is always a winner in my book!

Basic Invite offers everything from stationery, to holiday photo cards, to party invitations. I know their address capturing service will come in handy when I order holiday cards. Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows customers to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request their friends and family’s addresses which will be stored in the customer’s account and can then be selected during the design process

Foil cards are also available in gold, silver, and rose gold. Customers can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs.

Right now, Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51

I put mine off for about a year hahah. It really has helped me though. I met someone about a month ago and then saw them last week. She said she remembered to visit my blog b/c of the card.

I like the one with the stripe on the reverse and the floral design around your name. Your name stands out nicely and I think it could be long lasting if you wanted it to be. The ones with photos do give instant recognition though, especially if the person recieving the card meets a lot of people. My husband will meet a few hundred people at a conference and has literally thousands of cards and they all start to blend together! Some people think cards are old fashioned but I think it’s so helpful for remembering , I keep mine in a special folio and it’s so easy to flip through and find a business or a person. Having a card to give out definitly helps one stand out from the crowd!

Thank you so much! That’s so true. I could order some of both for depending on what I am doing. If it’s a networking event I think the picture would stand out. Yes, I agree I think they really are so helpful. I don’t think they’re old fashion at all like many people do. 🙂

These cards are awesome Courtney ! I will look up basic invites but I am sacred to use my photo as I am self consious about appearance. The horizontal one works best as it gives a sneak peek into your blog , the one on the right also is good , I like the font and floral design, hugs, Terri xo.
