One thing that you may or may not know about me is that I am a huge foodie. Growing up with my dad in the restaurant industry has given me the opportunity to try many unique local restaurants. This is something I have always enjoyed getting to do. It is also something Jake and I have continued as we got married and moved to Oklahoma City. One of my favorite meals is brunch. I love breakfast, but I am definitely not a morning person, so brunch is a win-win for me. I am always on the hunt for a new brunch spot to try and Neighborhood Jam, the new local “it” brunch spot, recently opened in North Oklahoma City. After hearing some of my coworkers rave about it, it had been on the top of my list to try. This past week, Jake picked me up from work and took me to Neighborhood Jam for a weekday brunch.
When you walk in, you’re greeted with trendy decor and friendly staff. I started off with a latte and it was delicious. It is definitely one of the best lattes I’ve had. It was the perfect temperature too, so I could drink it without burning self. It was nice to not have to deal with the struggle of sitting around waiting for it to cool down enough to drink that usually happens when I get lattes elsewhere.
Food:

Pictured Above: Hot Jam Biscuit
For our entrees, I ordered the “Hot Jam Biscuits”. It is a biscuit made from scratch, jalepeno peach jam, fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, an egg (I did mine over easy), and I did a hash brown for my side. It was amazing. It was the perfect contrast of flavors with sweet and spicy. I ate my whole loaded biscuit and was full all day.

Pictured Above: Border Benny
Jake had the “Border Benny”, which is corn tortillas layered with beef barbacoa, ranchero sauce, two poached eggs, green chile hollandaise, pico, and cotija cheese, as well as a hash brown. His was absolutely delicious too (as usual, I stole several bites of his food) and is probably what I will get next time. It was a really creative dish, as it combined a style of food you usually only think of eating for lunch or dinner with traditional breakfast classics.
The uniqueness of the entrees is probably my favorite thing about Neighborhood Jam. While you can certainly order the simple breakfast staples, most of the entrees consist of deliciously inventive combinations. Ordering our food was very hard, as there were a ton of different meals that sounded crazy. I guess that just means we’ll have to go back soon to try what we didn’t order last time!
Service:
The service was great and the food came quickly. The time I was picked up from work to the time I was dropped back off was right at an hour. This makes it the perfect weekday spot.
Jake and I loved the food, the service and the trendy atmosphere of Neighborhood Jam. We are already looking forward to going back soon and trying out some of the other meals we weren’t able to get last time. You can check out their menu here.
