Christmas and the holiday season are just around the corner! Can you believe it? I have been gearing up for the holidays a little early this year, since we will be out of town spending Thanksgiving with both our families. Thanksgiving is such a busy time for us that I have gotten our décor up early, so we can enjoy it longer. I have also already started getting gifts purchased. The holidays always sneak up on me, and I don’t want to be in a scramble again this year!
Dollar General has been my one-stop-shop for gifts, décor, entertaining and more for the holiday season. There are several locations near our house. I stopped by one recently and left with a full cart. I am so impressed with all they have. Everything is very affordable and looks more expensive than it is. Everything pictured in our breakfast room and all of the Christmas décor in our kitchen was purchased there. They have everything from Christmas trees, to knick-knacks, to everything you need for entertaining. I picked up a new Christmas tree for only $40 to add to our breakfast room this year. After the recent remodel of our breakfast room and kitchen, I knew I wanted to expand our Christmas décor. Decorating a Christmas tree can get very expensive quick, so I was excited to find adorable ornaments and decor that don’t break the bank. I picked up a tree skirt for $3, a tree topper for less than $4, a whole box of ornaments for $6 and ribbon for only $2. I also added garland for $ and a gorgeous wreath for $10 and $2 for a bow I added.
Speaking of gifts, I had a lot of trouble thinking of gift ideas for everyone on my list, but luckily they have a great selection. They have adorable gift wrap, family pajamas, electronics, beauty sets and more. I picked up some adorable holiday mugs for only $2 cute gifts that I plan to put candies in. They also have adorable wine gift bags for only $2, and they now even carry their own private wine label Brightlands for $5. This is also a perfect hostess gift; I always love to bring the host a bottle of wine. I found some DVDs for less than $5 and electronics like phone accessories for Jake’s stocking. I also picked him up a really nike Axe gift set for only $10. For my girl friends, I found a bunch of adorable beauty items that are perfect like exfoliators for $2 and more. Although we don’t have children yet, we found a lot of items to stock up our fur baby’s stocking. We got her some catnip for $2, her own stocking for $1, treats and some toys for $1.75.
Their prices are very affordable to begin with, and they’re even more affordable with DG Digital Coupons and the DG App. I went on Saturday, when they offer a digital $5 off coupon if you spend $25 or more. They have that coupon every Saturday, so you can shop and save every single week.
Dollar General has really made holiday decorating and shopping easy this year. They really stepped their game up with their selection and have amazing deals. Make sure to check out their holiday page here.
