Happy Thursday! It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is exactly one week from today. It has finally just recently started to feel like fall to me due to our sudden change to cooler weather, and the fall foliage at last has appeared here in Birmingham. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it means family time, a lot of amazing food, and traditions (you can see my favorite traditions here). For the first time, Jake and I are hosting Thanksgiving. I have set our menu, ordered the catering and planned my outfit options. It looks like we will have cooler weather this year, so I plan to embrace the fall weather. I always keep my Thanksgiving outfit casual (for me), but I still want something put together that will still be comfortable after a feast. I have rounded up several outfits that would be perfect for Thanksgiving. I am still not sure what I’ll wear, but I have many options. Many of these outfits already have been featured in a dedicated blog post, but a few haven’t. Since Thanksgiving is getting so close, I have linked some of the same exact pieces (if they’re still in stock) and also similar items from stores I know have quick shipping, like Amazon, or a site-to-store feature.
Make sure to comment and let me know your favorite outfit!
1. Animal Print Dress, Vest and Tall Boots
I haven’t done a full blog post on this outfit yet, but I plan to bring it to Atlanta this weekend and maybe change it up a bit. The vest dresses the outfit down and the boots make it warm. Neutrals like animal prints are always perfect for fall.

2. A Cozy Sweater, Scarf Jeans and Booties
This is one of the more casual options. My family likes to dress up, but this would still be perfect for our Thanksgiving festivities. I am personally not as comfortable in jeans, but this oversized sweater balances that out for me. It also makes it perfect for a feast. The scarf makes a statement and keeps you cozy. A blanket scarf is the perfect touch for a fall outfit.

3. Cozy Sweater/Skirt Combo & Over The Knee Boots:
This is what I will most likely wear. The cardigan and boots help you stay warm and look fall ready. If it’s really cold, you could even add tights. I sized up in the skirt because I was unsure of how it ran. It will be perfect after my second plate of Thanksgiving food.

4. Corduroy Skirt
When I first got this burgundy corduroy skirt, I didn’t think it would go with anything and that I would rarely wear it. Boy, was I wrong! I have worn it over and over, styling it 4 different ways. This staple piece is perfect with a blanket scarf, moto jacket, a sweater, a blush blouse and more.

5.Ruffled Dress in Fall Colors:
It’s no secret that I love burgundy for fall. This dress would be perfect for Thanksgiving and is on the dressy/casual side. Now that it’s cooler I can see it with over the knee boots. The style is very flattering and would still be after a big meal.

6. Suede Dress
When I bought this dress, I didn’t think it would be comfortable. Luckily it is! The A line style makes it flattering, too. I can see this with tights now that it’s cooler outside. The color is perfect for fall and will also work for Christmas.

7.Sweater Dress & Moto Jacket
A sweater dress is always a cozy option and usually my go-to for Thanksgiving. I paired this one with a moto jacket for warmth. This is another option I am likely to wear to Thanksgiving.

8.Swing Dress & Booties A shift dress is always an easy/comfortable option. Now that it’s cooler outside, I plan to style this one with a blanket scarf and over-the-knee boots. I have been wearing this dress on repeat. The price is amazing too.
LOVE your booties in outfit #2!!! Hope all is well with you and your hubby 🙂 Happy holidays!!

Hello Courtney, thanks for this post! it will be exciting for you two to host thanksgiving for the first time! It is nice to dress up a little as it is a special day in the year. #1 is cute with the tall boots. #2 is a great casual look that can work but I know what you mean about wearing jeans. 3 and 4 are two recent post outfits that work. The sweater dress is a great statement piece and I Love the seude dress it is flattering. My favorite by a slim margin is the ruffled burgundy dress! You look great in it and will work for your climate I think.
