What To Wear:
As I mentioned, I kept postponing newborn photos because we take socially distancing very seriously and because I couldn’t figure out what to wear. I knew I wanted to go with a neutral theme and put Scarlett in pale pink. We picked neutrals because my plan for our forever home is to do a gallery wall and I wanted some newborn photos to frame for it. When I was pregnant I didn’t know what would work for my postpartum body, and when I had Scarlett I tried on this dress from my maternity photos. Sadly the dress looked frumpy without a baby bump. I had planned to have it be my newborn photo dress. I didn’t have a good white dress that was flattering early postpartum. I ordered a bunch of dresses and loved the lacey details on this one. It is fitted in the waist, but a little flowy everywhere else, making it perfect for postpartum. This dress I got recently would also be very flattering for newborn photos. Also, make sure to have a backup outfit just in case. Jake ended up having to change shirts because Scarlett spit up all over him. I was so glad I had pulled a few shirts for him just in case.
Scarlett will be 3 months tomorrow and I cannot believe how fast time is flying. Time truly goes by faster when you’re a mother. Stay tuned, I will be sharing some home decor posts soon and about our breastfeeding journey.

Thank you so much, sweet friend.
Courtney these are beautiful!! I love what you chose to wear. All of the pictures turned out SO great. And I totally know what you mean about waiting a month for newborn photos. I always recommend that to clients because the baby is more alert and active and moms have a little bit of a routine! I think it’s smart.

Thank you so much, Katherine. 🙂 I was so glad we waited, I was getting sad that we didn’t do them when she was first born. I think this was a really good time. I don’t think I could’ve done them super early with no routine.
Hi Courtney, It is so worth it to have a photographer on hand for precious pics like newborns! They can get the perfect shot at the perfect time ! They definitely keep their eyes open more after the first month! The dress you picked is gorgeous , I love the lace details. Your professional photos are just gorgeous, there is no other word to describe this new family of 3 and all the love there is for each other. Scarlett is just too cute!! Lovely pics of her sleeping peacefully, and the one with Mom and Dad’s rings on her toes! Thanks for sharing, have a nice evening and week ahead, Terri xo.
