Every year since we moved to Birmingham, I have taken blog photos in front of this gorgeous tree as soon as fall rolls around. Although it takes a while for our trees to change, we have some beautiful ones in our neighborhood. They typically change colors around the second week of November. The fall photos have always just been me since Jake is not a huge fan (or even a small fan) of being in photos, but ever since Scarlett came he is way more on board with being in photos.
We ordered Scarlett this pumpkin dress with her name on it and it’s been one of my favorites. I knew I would want to use it for fall family photos as soon as it arrived. I picked our outfits to coordinate with hers. Jake has a limited wardrobe, so the only thing he really had that worked was more matching her outfit instead of coordinating with it. I picked a navy dress to have a little contrast. Ideally it probably would’ve worked better with him in navy since he held her, but Jake hasn’t bought new clothes in almost a decade and didn’t want to ruin his streak. It still worked though! I was in charge of the tripod and timer, so I had him hold her in most photos.
This has been a crazy week. Scarlett had her 6 month pediatrician appointment on Monday and her doctor wants us to keep an eye on her weight since she’s still in the 5th percentile for weight. She started solids once a day on Tuesday and LOVES them. So far we have done banana and avocado. I have a feeling before long she will have no trouble with weight gain.
