Nursing Friendly 4th of July Dresses

“And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men (and women) who died, who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the U.S.A.” Lee Greenwood

I cannot believe the 4th of July is this weekend. Scarlett has been keeping me extremely busy, but I’m excited to jump back into the blogging world. 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays since I was little because we usually spent the day with family at the lake celebrating our freedom. I have so many memories of the 4th at the lake. Unfortunately this year with a newborn and COVID-19 we’re not able to travel. We will be celebrating at home with the 4 of us (including our cat). I’m still planning to dress up and make the day special with a yummy cookout or takeout, so I wanted to share a couple of outfits I put together.

I am all about gingham print and love these two dresses. I have a similar dress to the red one in pink and when I saw the red version I had to have it. I am currently nursing Scarlett (I will share a life update soon with our breastfeeding journey), so I was looking for something I could wear that worked for nursing. I wanted something budget friendly that looked more expensive than it actually was. I paired the blue option with red and the red option with blue to make them more patriotic. You can’t wear a real bra with these two, so I wore a bandeau. I’m quickly discovering that smocked dresses are great options for nursing. I’m wearing a size small in both dresses. The red runs a little small and the blue runs big.

Thank you so much to the men and women who are fighting and have fought for our freedom as well as their families. I am forever grateful for their sacrifices.

What are your plans for the 4th?

I love the red gingham dress, it’s so cute! Happy 4th!

Oof breastfeeding – I’m 14 weeks and already starting to get lightly anxious… I’d love to read a post about how nights are working out, especially night feedings, and any tips!

Awww, all of your outfits are darling (for both you cuties)! It was a weird 4th this year wasn’t it? We usually spent the holiday on the lake with family too, but with COVID, my husband and I went boating during the day and then cooked at our home. Fortunately, our neighbors love fireworks, and had tons going off! We were able to watch from our living room. haha.
