Mixing Neutrals

A new week, a new start! I decided to walk into this week with a smile on my face and a positive attitude. I noticed this made for a positive start to my week!

This weekend was nice and relaxing, just what I needed. Jake has his family medicine clerkship final on Friday, so he did a lot of studying. With Jake being so focused, this allowed me to do a lot of much needed organizing around the house. Getting very organized before the work week always helps me start on a positive note. I am looking very forward to this upcoming weekend. We’re celebrating my birthday early. There will be NO studying, since he is in between rotations. I live for  weekends like this!

I wore this outfit the other day when I was in a huge hurry. I just kind of threw together what was right in front of me. I ended up loving it! This outfit is so easy because it combines basic closet staples; a black sweater dress, camel brown over the knee boots and a neutral scarf. It was a nice change up from my typical brightly colored uniform. I ordered this scarf recently and it is been on repeat. It is the perfect weight for winter, but it’s not too heavy.

I used to think you could not mix brown and black. Let me just tell you, that’s a lie! If you think about it, animals in nature like leopards are both black and brown. This shows that God intended for neutrals to be mixed. 😉 I’m glad the whole matchy matchy times are done.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Looks pretty on you! You could get a light weight Burberry scarf. It goes all summer.
