Happy Tuesday! I don’t normally post on Tuesdays, but due to Labor Day I decided to delay my post until today.
Ever since I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Carrie Bradshaw Lied, wear a slip dress, I knew I had to have one. They are so versatile and can be dressed up or down. Lately they are a trend I am seeing a lot. Probably since they are great transitional pieces. I recently got two slip dresses from Tobi and love them.
How To Style A Velvet Slip Dress
This dress is honestly one of my favorite things I have in my closet right now. I am so excited for it to cool down so I can actually wear it. I never thought I would like the whole velvet trend, but this one is perfect. I styled it for a date night with a light tassel sweater, a clutch, and block heels. Lace camis are huge right now and I love that this is basically a dress version.
Other Ways To Style A Velvet Slip Dress
- This dress would be perfect with a denim jacket and booties.
- Add a t-shirt under it for a more casual look
- Add some jeans under it for a more casual look
- For a more edgy look, add a Moto jacket
How To Style A Maxi Slip Dress
This dress is a more dressy version of the slip dress and is so chic. This dress can be worn without a jacket, but I added a jacket to make it more edgy and chic. This jacket probably looks familiar from one of my recent posts. I added statement earrings and a thin gold choker to dress it up. I have already worn this necklace a lot and will be sharing more details about it next week.
Which slip dress is your favorite that I styled?
Stay tuned for Thursday’s post, where I will be addressing a question that has been on my mind: can you wear white jeans after Labor Day?
