There is just something about fall that refreshes me. Pumpkin everything, sweaters, boots/booties and the cooler weather all make me so happy. I also love that fall is about the wardrobe basics. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about (some) trends. I LOVE adding new trendy pieces to my wardrobe, but the most exciting thing for me recently was when I was pulling my fall clothes from the off rack and realized that most of my clothes from previous years still look current. Being a fashion blogger, I feel obligated to keep up with the latest styles, and the fact my fall clothes weren’t out of date was a pleasant surprise.
One piece that I think every fall wardrobe needs is a utility vest. I’m not usually drawn to army green, but I just love a utility vest. Back in the spring, I wrote about it being a wardrobe essential here, but it is also a fall staple too. One of my favorite ways to style a utility vest for fall is wearing a striped shift dress and riding boots. It is the perfect casual fall look! The vest runs big; I recommend sizing down. I found this dress for only $13. It runs small, so I recommend sizing up.
