“It’s the most basic time of the year.” Did anyone else sing this in the tune of the Christmas carol, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year?” I know I did! I can finally say, “Happy Fall, y’all!” since today is officially the first day of autumn. Although our temperatures are far from normal fall weather here in Birmingham, I’m in the spirit for fall. I have decorated our home with fun fall accents, and we just booked a fun getaway to Boston for October. I am excited to do all of the fall things. We also will be visiting Kansas City in the fall, so I’m excited for a lot of upcoming travels. I am so excited to get a taste of the fall weather in these other cities earlier than we will get in Bham with our travels (usually around late October or November).
I have also officially moved all of my summer clothes into vacuum sealed bags because our old home has pretty small closets. With it being fall but not quite feeling like fall yet, I am looking for pieces in fall textures and colors that are also lightweight. I was drawn to this gorgeous Chicwish maxi dress because it’s perfect for the early fall heat with the lightweight fabric. The color and pattern on it scream fall, and it will work into the cooler months too. It will look adorable with a leather jacket when it gets chilly in the next couple of months. It is also perfect for work or play and is so comfortable. It runs true to size and is one of my favorite fall pieces.
What are your fall plans??
Your dress screams fall!! Love it!

Happy fall! It doesn’t quite feel like it here yet – but it’s on its way! I LOVE your dress. It’s so gorgeous. Perfect for this time of year, but could work equally as well in summer!

You too Lindsey! It really doesn’t but i’m ready. Aww thank you. I love it. It really could go for summer too.
Happy fall to you too Courtney! I am sure to me it would not feel like fall if I was to stop off in Birmingham ! How exciting to get a trip to Boston. I love that city , so much to do! Glad you will make it back to Kansas city too. I have never partaken in vacuum sealing, is it fun to do? This maxi dress with its fabulous pattern says fall all day long! It is very pretty and I am glad it is lightweight for fall in Alabama . We have not too many big plans for fall , we will go to an orchard for sure and pumpkin patch. Also next month we are celebrating our wedding anniversary (15 years and 4 kids later!!!!) Have a lovely day Dear, Terri xo.

Thank you, Terri! We’re so excited to visit Boston soon and also Kansas City for a Chiefs game. It’s not fun to vacuum seal, but it saves a lot of space. Aww thank you so much. I want to go to an orchard and pumpkin patch soon. How exciting Happy early anniversary.
Ahh such a cute dress! I love maxi dresses like this with fall prints and colors. The key (for Texas) is to still have breathable fabric and lighter weights! This looks awesome! Happy Fall 🙂

Thank you so much, Katherine! It is my favorite dress right now. I’ve already worn it 3x and I haven’t had it longer than a few weeks. That is so true. Alabama is really hot as well.
