I don’t know how it’s even possible that we’re almost halfway through December. With Thanksgiving being a week later than it normally is, the Christmas season is flying by for me. I shared a roundup of casual Christmas outfits earlier in the season. This time I wanted to share some glam holiday outfits that would work for dressier occasions. Now that I’m almost 4 weeks in to my second trimester, my belly is slowly growing. At this point most of my regular clothing fits, but some of my tighter cocktail dresses don’t look flattering on me. The bump is still in the awkward stage of “is it a baby bump or did I gain weight?” Although I did have a coworker recently say she was able to tell I’m pregnant. I am trying to hold off on buying new clothes for now, since I know I will need to size up soon. I am trying to be more creative with my holiday wardrobe this year because of this. This has me thinking outside of the box on traditional holiday looks and I’m having fun with it.
Glam Holiday Outfit Round up:
Red Dress: Of course a red dress is very traditional. I loved this one I featured earlier in the month. This fur cape is the perfect way to dress it up and make it more festive. Full post with outfit details here.
Pink Midi Skirt: I recently shared this outfit and it might be my favorite holiday look this year. I am now questioning why I didn’t wear pink much in previous Christmas seasons. This skirt is comfortable and the sweater makes it cozy. This outfit is versatile enough to be worn to work or a party. Full post with outfit details here.
Green Midi Skirt with Sequin Jacket: I shared this sequin jacket with jeans in this post and loved how it looked styled with a festive midi skirt.
Shop My Outfit:
Pink Lilly Pulitzer Dress: I think in my red dress post I said I would be wearing that dress to Jake’s work Christmas party, but I have changed my mind to this dress instead. When trying to decide what I wanted to wear, I wasn’t particularly excited about anything, but I didn’t want to buy something new that would only be worn once. My mom reminded me about this gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer dress I got for my birthday last year on the After Party Sale. I wore it last spring and it’s actually perfect for right now, too. Pink is huge this year and we determined last year that when I got pregnant it would work for a while since it’s a shift dress. The color, gold details and bell sleeves make it so fun and festive. I plan to wear it with tights, gold shoes/accessories, my fur cape that I styled with the red dress or a tan coat, since it’s cold.
Shop My Outfit:
Little Black Dress: I don’t have a recent LBD outfit, but you can never go wrong with a little black dress! Luckily I have several styles of little black dresses. The LBD is very classic. Just add some fun gold or red accessories to make it more festive for your party or event.
Other colors/fabrics that are festive for the holidays:
- Fabrics that are festive for the holidays: velvet, lace, taffeta and more.
- Festive colors/ patterns: Plaids, golds, silvers, pink, burgundy, red, darker greens, navy blue, blue, darker purples, gray, black and more.

Aw thank you so much, Katherine.
Hi Courtney, time sure is moving fast ! I understand what you mean by people wondering if you are gaining weight or is she pregnant! You cannot go wrong with red this time of year . I really like that pink pleated skirt for dressy occasions. The sequin jacket says glitz and glamour along with the green skirt. The pink Lily Pulitzer is gorgeous on you and will look great with tights and the cape. The LBD is very stylish on you , It can always be worn any time of the year. I will pick the Pink polka dot Lily Pulitzer as my favorite ! Have a great day Dear, Terri xo.
