Central Park is where countless movies are filmed, so of course it was #1 on my must-visit list for our New York City trip. From the beautiful park itself to the zoo to the boathouse to The Tavern On The Green restaurant, I am so glad we got to visit it. Before going to Central Park, we had walked many miles and tried to see everything we could. After a full day we were ready to stay in one place, so we stopped by the hotel to change into our evening attire and took a taxi to the park. I will share everything we did in NYC soon in my full guide.
Central Park is conveniently located by right by The Plaza Hotel, another place I’ve seen in many movies and always hoped to visit. Although you cannot go far into the hotel unless you’re a guest, it was still fun to see the parts that are open to the public. Also, the famous 5th Avenue is just around the corner so it was a win-win situation! Although I had no intentions of making a big 5th Ave purchase, I knew I’d regret not seeing it. It worked out perfectly because we didn’t have to make a special trip to go, since I knew Jake didn’t care to visit it. One thing I loved about NYC is a lot of key destinations are just minutes from each other.
After exploring The Plaza Hotel and 5th Avenue, Jake and I headed to Central Park to explore. Everything is is so beautiful and green. I feel like spring time is the perfect time to visit the city. It was amazing to see the beautiful city skyline peeking up in the background too.
After exploring Central Park, we headed to get cocktails and then dinner at the iconic Tavern On The Green per many recommendations. The Tavern On The Green is located in Central Park. This restaurant is so gorgeous. I would say it’s more on the fancy side, but I saw ladies dressed in everything from cocktail dresses to jeans. Jake and I both really enjoyed the food. It’s definitely not the best food I’ve ever had, but it is still pretty good and it was a great experience. Even if you don’t plan to eat there, if you’re in Central Park I highly recommend grabbing a cocktail there or a glass of champagne to celebrate. This was the perfect way to end our trip and the perfect date night.
Stay tuned, I will be sharing our recent experience at The Kentucky Derby, then I will be sharing my full guide to NYC.
