Exploring Boston in Houndstooth

Happy Monday! When planning my outfits for this trip, I knew it would be a lot cooler there than in Birmingham. I decided to order this fun and preppy houndstooth vest for the trip.  When I think of New England fashion, I think of preppy and tailored pieces like Brooks Brothers and Vineyard Vines. Outfit planning is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. I love to plan outfits that fit into the culture. I’ve been eyeing this vest for a while, but didn’t know if it was really my style/how it would fit. I finally ordered it and it might be my new favorite piece, honestly. I posted this outfit on my stories and had so many responses that y’all loved the outfit too. This was by far my favorite outfit I wore in Boston.

I wore this outfit on the first day to sight see and this vest is actually really thick\warm.  The first day was the warmest (most of our trip was dreary and cold) and I started to get a little hot. After a lot of walking, I ended up changing shoes and outfits. We did the Freedom Trail the first day which is 2.5 miles long, but by the time you explore certain districts we walked almost triple that. Most of our trip was cool weather, but with all of the walking on the first day this vest was a little too warm. I cannot wait to wear it for Christmas as well with a red top or dress under it.

This vest runs small.  I sized up to a medium and when it was buttoned up, it was a little snug in the chest and hips.  It can be worn as a dress or open as a vest. I prefer how it looks as a vest with a fitted dress or skirt under it. The skirt also runs really small; I sized up and could have sized up 2 sizes. The vest would be really cute with a hat, but of course I forgot to pack some hats this time.

Stay tuned, I will be sharing a full guide to Boston soon.

Yay! It was nice to get to experience the fall. It’s just now cooling down in Alabama.

It really is! I loved how everything was all in the same general area. Most cities it seems like landmarks are so scattered. Aw thanks, Lindsey.

The vest looks amazing on you Courtney, and definitely fitted in for your trip to cooler climates! I can see how it might get warm from a lot of walking. That is a nice option that the vest can be worn as a dress but I do like the look of the skirt and top underneath. Wearing a hat would make you even more chic ( is that possible??) I love the old cobbled streets ! We need to return to Boston ! Happy Friday Dear, Terri xoxo.
