When I first started to see my body change with pregnancy, I found myself hiding it. I also found myself comparing myself to other women who are due about the same time. I’m in a pregnancy group on Facebook, and constantly would look at the bump threads and compare myself to the ladies who had no bump yet.
At 18 weeks, my bump officially popped out and there was no more hiding the baby bump. It happened basically overnight. We were going on a trip to Atlanta and I put on a workout outfit that I had worn earlier in the week, when I was surprised to see a bump out of nowhere. It has also been hard seeing some of my favorite things not fitting anymore. I have hardly gained any weight yet on the scale, but my body has changed so much. Even the other day, I noticed my regular pjs and underwear were too tight, so I have went on a Target spree. Now that I’m 22 weeks I definitely look pregnant, especially if I wear something fitted like this outfit (and often really even in things that are not fitted).
If you saw my 2020 word of the year post, I chose embrace as my word. Being pregnant and being a mom is one of the greatest gifts, so I am learning to love and embrace my changing body. I am also learning to have fun with dressing the bump. I always enjoy seeing pregnant bloggers style their bump, so it’s been a fun challenge for me. It’s truly beautiful what a woman’s body can do, and I have always thought other pregnant women were so beautiful. Every women carries differently (and even the same woman may often carry totally differently in a different pregnancy), so it’s important to not compare yourself to others. Every bump is unique because every baby is unique. With the new year I decided to not be so hard on myself because I’m growing a tiny human.
I am finally feeling confident in my own skin, and I have started embracing my new body by showing off the bump with fitted dresses and not hiding it anymore. I had fun styling this pink sweater dress with a vest and snake print boots. I’m wearing my regular size in all pieces and the vest helped really emphasize the bump. Snake print boots have been one of the biggest trends of the fall/winter, so I paired them together. I decided to really have fun with this look and do the vest and snake print together. I love how it turned out.
You look absolutely adorable!! I love that you are embracing the bump. In the long run, it’s such a short season so you might as well play it up! 😉 Gorgeous, as always!

Aww you are so sweet! Thank you.
You are looking absolutely fabulous, Courtney! You are seriously the cutest. The boots were the perfect touch to this outfit. And it is crazy how everyone carries so differently. I swear my sister-in-law hardly had a bump until she was 8 months pregnant with her first pregnancy… but for her second pregnancy, she started showing just before you did too. It’s crazy how even the same person can carry differently from pregnancy to pregnancy. I can’t wait to share more of your pregnancy outfits with her!

Aw thank you so much, Lindsey! It really is so crazy how everyone carries differently. Some days I feel like I look very obviously pregnant then other days when i’m wearing something that’s not fitted people say they can’t really tell. It’s funny! It really depends on if my outfit is fitted or not. Soo true. Aww thank you.
I can imagine it’s crazy seeing your body change so much! You have such a cute bump!!

It really is so crazy seeing my body change, but it’s also so special too knowing we have a baby on the way. Aww thank you. 🙂
Hello Courtney I guess being part of a pregnancy group on Facebook can be good and bad! At 18 weeks there is not much more hiding the baby bump. It is hard when your favorite clothes don’t fit anymore. I’m sure it was nice though to go to Target on the shopping spree! It is beautiful seeing a pregnant woman and it will be so nice to see your pregnancy posts as the weeks go by. Your whole outfit is very pretty. Snakeskin boots are really cute! Wishing you a wonderful Thursday, Terri xoxo

So true! I try to not look very much because I find myself comparing myself. Yes, it is hard when my clothes are not fitting. Luckily I still have a lot of things that work and I am so lucky my sister-in-law gave me a lot of maternity clothes/I got a lot of things at Target. Thanks, Terri! I am looking forward to reading your new blog post soon 🙂
That is so nice you got some maternity wear from your sister-in-law Courtney. Thank you! I know you will get to it when you have time. Enjoy your Sunday,Terri xoxo
