Dressing For A Rehearsal Dinner

Happy Friday! I am so glad it’s the almost the weekend. This time last week, we were heading down to Dallas for a fun wedding weekend. Although it was amazing, we’re so excited to spend time at home.

Jake is in between rotations this weekend and will be starting Pediatrics on Monday. We will be taking advantage of him being free over the weekend, since free weekends will soon be rare again. He has had a full month of elective rotations, so we got a little spoiled with no weekend work. The weather looks nice tomorrow, so that always makes the weekend more fun. We don’t have any set plans, but I know we will do a date of some sort.

I am meeting up with a blogger to start taking pictures together. I am also hoping to organize my closet and move the winter clothes to the top rack. My poor husband is getting exhausted being an Instagram husband taking most of my pictures, so I am working with other bloggers to take pictures of each other.  I’m excited to start working with them!IMG_7095

Now that it’s wedding season, you might be invited to a rehearsal dinner if you’re in the wedding party or are a close family member of the bride or groom. Most rehearsal dinners are not formal; they’re usually more cocktail attire. I determine what I am going to wear by the location of the dinner and I used the invitation as a guide.

The one we recently went to was at a brewery. I was not really sure what to expect, so I played it safe with a little black dress. My rule of thumb is, it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. I wanted to still look trendy, so I wore a cold shoulder dress. One of my favorite things about LBD’s is they’re like a blank canvas. I wanted to have fun with this look, so I wore a statement necklace, leopard pumps and my new pink bag.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Thank you so much! Yes, I am excited. Jake is getting burnt out on pictures and is about to not really have time.
