Christmas in July

Christmas 2020 was far from normal for our family. We were unfortunately unable to travel home to celebrate with family like we usually would. There weren’t Christmas parties and things definitely didn’t feel the same. Now that things are finally back to normal, a Christmas in July would be a fun way to celebrate the missed occasion. I’ve never done a Christmas in July party, but Basic Invite reached out to me with the idea and I love it. They have some really cute invitations that would be so fun for the occasion (or any occasion, really).

How To Celebrate Christmas in July:

  • What to wear: Most places are hot right now, so I wouldn’t suggest wearing your regular winter Christmas attire. I would wear light weight clothing in Christmas colors, like red and green. I wore a white dress and red headband for our shoot and I put Scarlett in one of her lighter weight Christmas dresses.
  • Fun invitations: I love all things personalized and sending invitations for parties. Basic Invite has so many cute invitations that could be used for Christmas in July.  They’re my go-to for holiday party invitations  as well as stationery and more. One thing that I love about them is that they offer almost unlimited colors. I was able to change the font colors on the invitations I selected to fit the theme better. I also love that they offer custom samples. I never got around to doing birth announcements for Scarlett, but I was able to order some samples so we could have some for her baby book. It’s nice to be able to feel the texture of the paper and quality before placing a bulk order too when ordering christmas cards online and other stationery too. They have a card for almost every major life moment, including weddings, showers, birth announcements, first birthdays, graduations and more. Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. You won’t want to miss their holiday cards 2021.
Festive Food: I love the idea of putting a spin on traditional foods for Christmas, but tweaking them for hot weather. Some ideas I came up with are a frozen hot chocolate bar, charcuterie (or other foods) shaped like a tree, cranberry cocktails, sangria, Christmas cookies, and more.
Picnic themed: July is a great picnic month, so it would be cute to do a little Christmas in July picnic. Our little styled shoot would be a perfect set up for a picnic.
A Luau: This would be a perfect way to celebrate the occasion. You could add some Christmas decor as well to make it more festive.

Have you attended a Christmas in July party? If so, I’d love to hear all about it.

Thank you! Sorry for my delayed response, it’s from Smocked Auctions. They usually do a similar one each year for Christmas.
