If there’s one item every woman needs in her closet, it’s the little black dress. Made iconic by Coco Chanel, it’s a wardrobe staple that never goes out of style. When I think of the “LBD”, I also think of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The LBD is a blank slate, just like its counterpart, the little white dress.
I find myself mostly drawn to the little black dress in the fall/winter months, or for evening events because of the darker color. When I feel like I have nothing else to wear, it’s my go-to. As I shared in this blog post, “Decoding The Dress Code,” when in doubt a black dress is a safe fashion choice. With it being a blank slate, there are so many ways you can style them. You can also dress them up or down. I love to add a pop of color with them, or go all neutral.
I styled mine with neutrals because there is nothing more chic to me than all neutrals with a pop of color, like I did with my purse. This dress runs true to size and I just love it. It is perfect for a date night or girls’ night out. I have several different LBDs in my closet, ranging from t-shirt dresses to a floor length dress. You can truly never have too many little black dresses.
