Shop My Outfit:
Happy Thursday! I am excited to continue my monthly Back to Basics series and share how to wear white in the winter. I’ve previously shared how to wear the little white dress and wanted to share how to wear it in the winter, too. When I was younger I followed the no white after Labor Day “rule” to a tee and now that I’m older, I think this is a rule that was meant to be broken. White is very chic in the winter, but I style it differently than I would in summer. This dress is technically more of a cream/off-white, but I still love white for winter too.
I love the fabric and color on this Chicwish dress. It also comes in pure white and would be perfect for Easter or a bride-to-be. I am wearing my regular size. This dress is non-maternity, but works with a bump too. The long sleeves and textured fabric make it perfect for winter.
How To Wear White In The Winter:
- Style With Neutrals: White looks so chic in the winter with other neutrals. I love to style it with black, cognac browns and tans.
- Animal Prints: One of my favorite ways to style white in winter is adding some animal prints. This helps it look more wintery.
- Textures: Textures like faux fur, leather, cashmere, and more are a perfect way to make a white piece look great for winter.
- Layering: Adding a jacket or coat is the perfect way to make your white dress look more appropriate for winter.
Jake and I have been busy with a lot of traveling/family in town lately. I’m trying to get in as much last minute traveling while I still can fly. I missed my Monday post since I was still out of town. I cannot wait to get organized this weekend and catch up on my blog.
Are you team no white in winter or do you break the rule too?
You look beautiful Courtney!

Aww thanks, Jennifer!
I think white before Labor Day is more the rule of thumb now. White boots, bags, sweaters and tops are more for me than a white dress now. That still seems summery to me although yours looks great on you!

Hi Betsy! You’re right, it is haha oops. I agree with you though. I typically don’t wear white dresses, more of accessories. This was more off white though. Aw thank you.

Aw thanks, Jenna! Hahah so true.
You are right Courtney, the wearing white after labor day rule was meant to be broken! It is so nice that it is a regular dress, that you can wear after your baby Girl is born! It looks great on you , you accessorized beautifully too. I just love seeing tour pregnancy poses. I am glad you are taking advantage of flying while you can , and I am sure you are enjoying having family in town too. Happy Sunday, Terri xo.

I am so glad that you agree, Terri! Yes, I think I have enough maternity clothing, so I am not letting myself buy much that won’t fit after baby girl is here. Aww thank you, we’ve been having a lot of fun seeing family. It was nice to have a laid back weekend this weekend. Have a nice week. Xoxo.
Laid back weekend’s are great Courtney! Have a great day, Terri xoxo
