Baby Girl’s Nursery Inspiration Board
I’ve shared several sneak peeks of baby girl’s nursery furniture on my Instagram stories and I have had such a good response. I wanted to share her nursery inspiration board now that I have her room mapped out. Our nursery is nowhere near done, but I’m glad to have a plan now. We pretty much either have everything at the house or ordered and awaiting shipping already, but we have to put it all together. For Christmas, we asked for baby things, since Jake and I didn’t need anything for ourselves. My family ordered her crib and changing table/dresser on Black Friday and we got a great deal. It came right before Christmas. My in-laws ordered her glider/recliner chair and all of her bedding. We’ve received most of the bedding around Christmas (some is still on back order) and the chair will arrive in February. We haven’t actually hung the drapes or put her bedding on yet.
We plan to have a second child hopefully fairly close in age to this first one, so I wanted to get good quality furniture that we could pass onto another child someday. I also wanted something that had multiple uses, too. Her crib turns into a toddler bed, and then you can use the back piece as a headboard. The changing table attachment to the dresser also detaches to make into a regular dresser someday. I wanted a durable recliner that could be used for a second child or somewhere else in the house, too. This one came highly recommended from other mamas.
I’m such a girly girl and knew if we had a girl her nursery would be decked out in pink. My inspiration was pale pink and all things feminine. Our nursery was originally a hideous brown color and we got it painted light gray to match the rest of the house soon. Jake and I agreed to keep the room neutral, since this is not our forever home. I really wanted to paint the room pink or have a statement wall with wallpaper on one wall, but Jake said no since we’ll likely be trying to sell this house in a couple years. We compromised on these gorgeous Restoration Hardware peonies decals. They’re actually removable and reusable, so we can use them again in our next home. My family is coming to see us soon for my birthday and my dad will help us hang the decals, the chandelier, and drapes.
We don’t have a lot of floor space in the nursery, so I picked out these Ikea hanging spice racks to use as book shelves. Jake is in the process of spray painting them white. I am also planning to hang a monogram piece over the changing table; please note these are obviously not her initials.
For her bedding, I loved these feminine rose details and was set on this bedding immediately. We went to Atlanta around Christmas and saw it in person at the huge Restoration Hardware store there. Unfortunately the gorgeous bumpers that match her bedding are unsafe, so we didn’t get them.
Baby girl’s nursery is already my favorite room in the house. I find myself frequently going in there just to daydream about our precious girl. I cannot wait to see her nursery all come together and share it with y’all when it’s completed.
