Shop My Outfit:
If you saw my summer bucket list post, you may have seen me share about a new blog series, “Back to Basics”. I am excited to share my first post, highlighting a must have summer item: the little white dress, aka the “LWD.” The little white dress is the counterpart of the Little Black Dress (“LBD”). My favorite thing about the LWD is that it is essentially a blank canvas. You can dress it up or down, add a pop of color, add a denim jacket, or so much more; the options are endless. When I think of summer style, a white dress is one of the first things that comes to mind. I became especially obsessed with the LWD when I got married and was preparing for my bridal showers and the honeymoon. The only rule to the LWD is to not wear them to a wedding event, unless you’re the bride.
I have been eying this “LWD” from Chicwish for some time and ordered it with our upcoming 5th wedding anniversary in mind. I love that it’s a medium level of dressiness, so this makes it versatile. I ordered a size up and the fit was perfect. It runs true to size. The lace details remind me of Self Portrait dresses for a fraction of the cost. It is great quality and looks way more expensive than it is. It also comes in red, which I think I “need” now.
Style a LWD with some wedges or sandals and a straw bag. This is the perfect way to dress it down. In the spring, a denim jacket is great to make it more casual. I added a little hair scarf to go with the casual vibes.
Pop of Color:
Y’all know by now that I love a pop of color. Since a LWD is basically a blank canvas, adding a pop of color is perfect for making a statement. I chose pink, but you can do any color. Turquoise would also be gorgeous.
As I mentioned above, I got this dress with our wedding anniversary in mind. We are planning a trip soon, and it will definitely be joining us. I always love to wear a white dress when we celebrate our anniversary. When we got married, I picked out earrings and shoes (not pictured) that could be worn again. I especially wear my Kate Spade statement earrings a lot. My earrings and clutch are perfect to dress the look up.
